WASHINGTON– With eight days until the last day to vote in the 2026 midterm elections, America Votes Executive Director Daria C. Dawson issued the following update on the state of the nationwide voter-engagement efforts:
“Over 29 million Americans have already voted by mail or early in-person. America Votes and our partners are on the ground in 27 states, working across more districts than ever before and expanding the map in states like Alaska, Texas, Mississippi, and Iowa.
“The election is not coming. It is happening right now. The America Votes coalition has had 4.1 million conversations with voters, including more than 3 million face-to-face conversations at people’s front doors. There is no substitute for real conversations with voters. Those conversations give people the information they need to understand their options and cast their ballots.
“Across the country, voters are already making their voices heard – by mail, through early voting, and at the polls. Over the next eight days, America Votes and our partners will keep showing up in communities, talking with voters, and making sure people have the information they need to cast their ballots.”
