WASHINGTON– With less than five weeks until the last day to vote in the 2026 midterm elections, America Votes Executive Director Daria C. Dawson issued the following statement on the state of the nationwide voter-engagement efforts:

“The midterm elections are no longer coming up. They are here. Ballots are already available in 25 states, and 29.7 million Americans can cast their ballots today. America Votes and our partners are on the ground in 27 states, working across more districts than ever before.

“Our coalition has already surpassed 2 million conversations with voters, including more than 1.5 million face-to-face conversations at people’s front doorsteps. These are not simply doors knocked or calls made. These are actual conversations with voters, whether at their front doors or over the phone. There is a difference between contacting a voter and actually connecting with one.

“Election Day is the last day to vote, not the first. As we enter the final stretch, there is still time to reach voters, help them understand their options for early voting, absentee voting, voting by mail, or voting on Election Day, and make sure they have the information they need to cast their ballots. We are encouraged by the momentum we’ve built, but our work is far from finished. America Votes and our partners will continue showing up in communities and having these important conversations through November 3.”
