After several months of bargaining, the America Votes Workers’ Union has voted to ratify a new contract. The new contract will last until July 1, 2029. On behalf of the entire America Votes Team, America Votes Executive Director Daria Dawson, America Votes Workers Union Chair Wes Lewis, and Co-Chair Jenna Tingum issued the following statement together.
“For more than 20 years, our team members have worked to ensure that every eligible American is able to cast their ballot. Separate from any campaigns or individual elections, our team works year-round to ensure that voices are heard and that elections are free and fair.
“America Votes is proud to have the hardest working innovative leaders in data, partnerships, and election administration on our team. This contract is the product of good-faith bargaining and mutual respect between management and our union. AVWU strengthens America Votes as an organization and as a workplace. Together, we are committed to supporting labor and the people who make this work possible. This contract is another step towards ensuring that America Votes remains the best place to work in progressive politics.
“We want to express immense gratitude to the AVWU and management team members who took on the task of amending and bargaining for this new contract. This team essentially took on another job on top of their full-time job of giving every American what is needed to make their voices heard in the midterm elections and beyond.”
