America Votes Executive Director Daria Dawson issued the following statement on the state and local elections on November 4, 2025:

“There was one massive loser tonight: Donald Trump. These election results send a clear message that Americans are done with the chaos and hatred coming from his White House. Less than one year into this administration and this Congress, Republicans have already proven their complete inability to govern and deliver for the American people. Costs are skyrocketing and Americans are paying more for the essentials we need while food assistance programs are being cut or eliminated altogether.  Republicans’ failure to fund the government is just another example of their incompetence and loyalty to Trump’s hateful priorities. 

“When allowed to participate in free and fair elections,  voters across the nation rejected MAGA Republicans up and down the ballot and elected candidates who are committed to protecting our democracy while bringing down costs for every American.

“America Votes partner organizations and staff ensured voters were given the information needed to make their voices heard at the ballot box and win key races. As we move into 2026, the America Votes coalition stands ready to build on this momentum to empower voters, hold elected officials accountable, and deliver for the American people in the midterms and beyond.”
