America Votes’ Executive Director, Daria Dawson, issued the following statement in response to the Trump administration’s Executive Order Ensuring Citizenship Verification and Integrity in Federal Elections:

Millions of Americans use vote-by-mail to make their voices heard, including Donald Trump. But, as usual, he believes the law should work for him and punish his opponents. This desperate, half-baked attempt to undermine the will of the electorate is a sham and it will fail. 

In November, WE WILL MAKE SURE Americans come out in droves to reject his disastrous agenda and vote his anti-democracy party out of power on multiple levels of the ballot across the country. 

This fall, the voters are going to teach Trump and MAGA the lesson that every action they take causes an equal and opposite reaction. Whatever the Trump Administration does to try to keep eligible voters from having their voices heard, America Votes will be leading the work to ensure voters have all the information and opportunities to cast their ballot.
