WASHINGTON – America Votes senior leadership team issued the following statement today celebrating the advancement of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.
“America Votes is thrilled that Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s historic nomination to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court has advanced for a full vote in the Senate. Judge Jackson’s exceptional intellect and unimpeachable character are what we need on the Supreme Court at a time when the foundations of American democracy are under attack.
“As we heard in the hearings, Judge Jackson’s proven legal abilities, work ethic, and willingness to work together with others will serve the Court, and the American people, well. Furthermore, Judge Jackson’s long record of excellence in public service, from the public defender’s office to federal appellate judge, is proof that we can count on her to stand up for the constitutional rights of every person in this country.
“Judge Jackson is a historic nominee for the Supreme Court who has the mind and the character to meet the unique challenges we are facing today. We urge the Senate to confirm her swiftly.”
