AMERICA VOTES’ COALITION  HAS KNOCKED OVER 36 MILLION DOORS ACROSS 7 KEY BATTLEGROUND STATES

With Election Day 2024 now less than one week away, America Votes and its partner organizations have surpassed their previous record for door knocks, making this year’s field program their largest ever.  

The America Votes coalition has knocked more than 36 million doors in the top seven presidential battleground states (Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin) with plans to add another 5 million doors and have approximately 1 million conversations with targeted voters before polls close on November 5. 

Overall, the coalition has knocked 45 million doors nationwide — far surpassing  the organization’s previous record of 26 million doors knocked during the 2022 election cycle. Additionally, America Votes partner organizations have made over 61 million phone calls. This outreach has yielded more than 12 million conversations from doors and dials with targeted voters across the country.

America Votes has led a highly targeted ground game, directing groups to specific doors of voters whose turnout is key to victory. America Votes reports contacting nearly 850,000 Democratic-leaning new registrants so far as well as  2 million “Blue Surge” voters, voters who voted while Trump was in the White House in 2018 and/or 2020, but haven’t turned out before or since, in the battleground states. 

The program is especially focused on engaging young and diverse voters, with 57% percent of outreach going to communities of color and 37% going to voters under 35.

The massive ground game has been fueled by tremendous funding from America Votes. Overall, America Votes has invested more than $180 million in its partner organizations to carry out voter registration, voter engagement, and turnout programs primarily in the seven presidential battleground states. 

“The stakes in this election could not be higher, and our coalition is stepping up to meet this moment. We have already smashed our previous record for voter outreach, but we are not slowing down,” America Votes Executive Director Daria Dawson said. “While MAGA and Musk rely on gimmicks and struggle to get out of the starting gate, America Votes and our partner groups are putting up huge numbers in the field using the tried and true tactics that we know work to turn out voters.
