America Votes Celebrates Historic Confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to Serve on the Supreme Court
WASHINGTON – America Votes senior leadership team issued the following statement today celebrating the Senate’s vote to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court.
“America Votes applauds the Senate’s historic vote to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court. Judge Jackson’s character, intellect, and steadfast commitment to the Constitution will provide a much-needed defense against forces that seek to undermine the foundations of our democracy.
“Judge Jackson’s unparalleled track record in public service – from the public defender’s office to the federal appellate court – will bring a breadth and depth of experience unlike others who have come before her on the Supreme Court. Today’s confirmation is a long overdue step forward that reinforces the value of every diverse voice in our democracy and is sure to inspire a generation of future leaders.
“From the very first committee hearing, it has been obvious that Judge Jackson has the integrity, intelligence, and temperament to serve on the Supreme Court. America Votes is thrilled with today’s historic confirmation vote and looks forward to watching Judge Jackson continue to make history on the Court.”
